It was entirely handmade in shape and color, for the decoration a modern technique was used that allowed to obtain very particular colors,
I guarantee that the photos fail to capture its shapes and its beautiful colors,
this is ceramics this is art.
And a large head that deserves a place in sight that highlights its particularity
alone already an element of the highest artistic value that can still be enhanced by a plant placed inside

Myth
The myth of Colapesce
The legend of Colapesce is a truly ancient tale, which finds its origins in the songs and stories of the ancestors.
The legend of Colapesce tells of Nicola, called Cola, son of a simple fisherman who lived in Messina. Cola was a true lover of the sea, so much so that he spent his days swimming, like a fish. It is no coincidence that he was nicknamed Colapesce.
His strong swimming skills pushed him to explore the wonders of the sea, in order to find treasures to bring to the mainland.
Particularly intrigued, Emperor Frederick II of Swabia called him to his palace, to challenge him in a swimming competition.
The aim was to find, in the seabed, a cup that the same sovereign had, previously, thrown into the sea.
So it was that Colapesce, diving, managed to recover the object.
Frederick II decided, then, to challenge him again, choosing an even more remote place, where the water was even deeper.
In this case, the crown of the emperor himself had to be recovered. Also in this challenge, Colapesce came out the winner, bringing the object to the surface.
But Colapesce was put to the test again by Frederick II, who threw a ring into a very insidious part of the sea.
Here Colapese, while swimming to the depths, realized something strange, namely three columns. Their purpose was to support Sicily and not to make it sink.
However, one of these columns was so damaged that it alarmed Colapesce and prompted him to make a decision: to replace it. So it was that he never resurfaced, leaving his family, the emperor and the entire court stunned.
According to legend, Colapesce is still there, strongly supporting Sicily. It is also said that the tremors of the earth, in the areas of Messina and Catania, are due to the movements of Colapesce, intent on changing shoulder.
Here is the story of Colapesce in the Sicilian dialect version:
The genti lu called Colapisci
pirchì stava 'nto mari comu 'npisci
dunni vinia non lu sapia nissunu
maybe it was figghiu di lu Diu Nittunu.
'Ngnornu a Cola u re fici chiamari
and Cola di lu mari curri e veni.
O Cola lu me regnu a scandagghiari
supra cchi pidamentu si susteni
Colapisci curri e va.
Vaiu and tornu majesty.
Cussì si jetta a mari Colapisci
and sutta l'unni subitu disappear
but dopu 'npocu, who knows what's new
a lu rignanti Colapisci dà.
Majesty your land
stannu supra a tri pilastri
and lu fattu assai trimennu,
unu già si s sta rumpennu.
O destinu miu unhappy
who misfortune preaches to me.
Chianci u re, com'haiu a fari
sulu tu mi poi sarvari.
On past many jorna
Colapisci does not return
and the aspettunu in marina
lu rignanti and the rigina.
Then you feel the sò vuci
of lu mari 'nsuperfici.
Majesty! ccà sugnu, ccà
Majesty ccà sugnu ccà.
'nta lu funnu di lu mari
ca non pozzu cchiù shiftari
vui priati Our Lady
ca riggissi stà culonna
ca sinnò will break
and Sicily will disappear.
Over many years
Colapisci is sempri ddà
Majesty! Majesty!
Colapisci is sempri ddà
Italian translation:
People called it Colapesce
because it was in the sea like a fish
no one knew where he came from
perhaps he was the son of the God Neptune.
One day in Cola the king called
and Cola from the sea rushed came.
O Cola my kingdom you must fathom
above what foundation it is sustained.
Colapesce runs and goes
I go and come back majesty.
So you dive into the sea Colapesce
and under the waves immediately disappears
but after a while, this novelty
to his king Colapesce gives.
Majesty your lands
stand above three pillars
and the very terrible fact,
one is already breaking.
O my unhappy destiny
what a misfortune you preach to me.
The king weeps, as I must do
only you can save me.
So many days have passed
Colapesce does not return
and they are waiting for her at the marina
the king and queen.
Then you hear his voice
from the sea to the surface.
Majesty! here I am, here
Majesty! here I am, here
in the bottom of the sea
that I can no longer return
you pray to Our Lady
that can hold this column
otherwise it will break
and Sicily will disappear
Many years have passed
Colapesce is always there
Majesty! Majesty!
Colapesce is always there
